Anthrax is Non
Contagious
Anthrax is an acute infection, which manifests within seven days after
exposure. Inhalation Anthrax may resemble common cold leading to
breathing problems later. Intestinal Anthrax follows history of
consuming
contaminated food.
Precaution
1. Do not shake or empty contents of any suspicious envelope or package.
2. Hold your breath while opening any suspected envelope
3. Put envelope in a plastic bag or some other container
4. Wash your hand using soap immediately
5. Consult your doctor/inform the police/public health authorities
Symptoms
1. Symptoms of common cold
2. Difficulty in breathing
3. Skin blisters
4. Abdominal pain
5. Dysentery/loose motion
6. Vomiting sensation/vomiting
Treatment: For 60 days
# Ciproflox 500 mg. twice daily.
In case of children, 20-30 mg per kg. body weight in two doses
Doxicycline 100 mg twice daily
In case of children, 5 mg per kg. body weight in two doses.
