A blackhead or Open comedo. If the plug enlarges and pushes through the surface of the skin, it's called an open comedo, or blackhead. The plug's dark appearance is not due to dirt, but rather to a buildup of melanin, the skin's dark pigment.

 INFLAMMATORY ACNE

The mildest form of inflammatory acne is the papule, which appears on the skin as a small, firm pink bump. These can be tender to the touch, and are often considered an intermediary step between non-inflammatory and clearly inflammatory lesions.

The real inflammatory acne is pustules. They are  small round lesions and contain visible pus. They may appear red at the base, with a yellowish or whitish center. Pustules do not commonly contain a great deal of bacteria; the inflammation is generally caused by chemical irritation by  fatty free acids.

The most severe form of acne is Nodule or Cyst. Large and usually very painful, pus filled..Nodules may perssist for weeks or months. , pus-filled  lesions lodged deep within the skin. Nodules develop when the contents of a comedo have spilled into the surrounding skin and the local immune system responds, producing pus. Both nodules and cysts often leave deep scars.

The rare and serious form of acne is conglobata. This  inflammatory acne develops primarily on the back, buttocks and chest. In addition to the presence of pustules and nodules, there may be severe bacterial infection.

Bump on Eyelids

Most bumps on the eyelid are styes. A stye is an inflamed oil gland on the edge of your eyelid, where the lash meets the lid. It appears as a red, swollen bump that looks like a pimple. It is tender, especially to the touch.

Symptoms

In addition to the red, swollen bump, other possible symptoms include:

  • A gritty, scratchy sensation as if there is a foreign body

  •  sensitivity to light

  • Tearing of your eye

  • Tenderness of the eyelid

  • Immediate Treatment if not complicated

Styes and chalazions can be treated by applying warm compresses. Apply for 10 minutes. Do this four times a day.

  • Do NOT attempt to squeeze a stye or any other type of eyelid bump. Let it drain on its own.

  • Antibiotic creams may help recurrent or persistent styes. Some large styes need to be lanced to drain the infection

Cure Acne Naturally

Don’t touch your face too often and irritate the pimples as in can lead to permanent scarring.

Apply tomato pulp on the pimples and leave it to dry.

Cucumber paste is also considered very good for the skin and is known to reduce pimples.

Grind neem leaves and turmeric together and apply the paste on the face to remove dark spots.

Take a sufficient multi-vitamin tablet. Acne can be a sign that your body is not receiving the right nutrition.

Eat carrots for the beta-carotene - Vitamin A. This strengthens the protective tissue of the skin and actually prevents acne by reducing sebum production.
